"Cooking for the Astronauts" by Dotti Kunde. In 1983, Dotti Kunde answered a classified ad, "Food Service Technician wanted, 3-4 days per month" and no sooner found herself cooking for the astronauts at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. About seven days before every launch, the crew of the Space Shuttle go into quarantine at KSC. Dotti, along with a few others, prepared the meals for the crew during their stay at the Cape. “Cooking for the Astronauts” shares Dotti's collection of recipes served to the astronauts. Included are the baking directions for Dotti's world famous chocolate chip cookies and the only cake that can travel into space “why?” because it has no crumbs. Dotti Kunde has graciously signed copies of her book for Countdown Creations and their partners.
